Graphic EQ

Ten bands. See the signal.

The incoming spectrum sits beneath ten proportional-Q bands, with the post-EQ trace and response visible at a glance.

Double-click the EQ banner

Three EQs.
One rack.

Double-click the EQ banner to open the EQ Rack: all three EQs side by side in their serial order. Seat 1 is always live. Power the other seats and they run in series, in exactly the order you see. Opening or leaving the rack never changes your settings.

Rotate or drag

The boxed carousel arrows in the strip header rotate which EQ sits in front. Inside the rack, drag a card by its banner or use its MOVE buttons to reorder the chain; every swap rides a click-free handoff that passes through exact neutral.

Mustard means more

Rear units powered while you are back on the strip? The EQ banner turns mustard with a ◆ marker, and the response display draws the full serial curve with each rear unit as its own dashed trace.

Pop Top finishes every order

After the rack, every configuration is finished by Pop Top: the fixed finishing shelf with 10, 20 and 40 kHz targets and up to 12 dB of Lift for an open top end. Never a fourth seat, never moved by a reorder, and covered by the same EQ power bypass.

Double-click the Character header

Strictly
off menu.

Double-click the Character header to open two additional processors: one for destructive character recipes and one for synthesized low end. Opening or leaving Off Menu never changes your settings. When either processor is active, the Character header turns mustard.

Destructive by design

With Bacon

Switch it on with the power control in the top-right corner and the Character stage gains a second, intentionally destructive act. Four flavor knobs do different damage — not four labels over one drive curve.

  • GreaseParallel nonlinear density, fast envelope compression and a controlled low-mid smear.
  • CrispyCascaded asymmetric clipping with a band-limited edge and high-frequency crunch.
  • ChewyEnvelope drag and transient smearing for a softer, rawer texture.
  • SmokyResonant emphasis, harmonic haze and bounded feedback intensity.

The Bacon macro scales the whole active recipe, Mix blends it back phase-coherent, and Auto Output keeps even reckless settings auditionable. Extra Crispy engages a more extreme oversampled cascade with stricter output protection. Everything unstable it does is bounded and deterministic, so your bounce matches what you heard.

Bacon Bits Choose Full Fat for the untouched recipe, 16-Bit Bacon for true signed 16-bit quantization with a restrained sampler profile, or 8-Bit Bacon for a chunkier 8-bit grid, stronger sample-and-hold and tighter bandwidth. The Off Menu scene follows the stored audio mode while its controls and safety readouts stay crisp.

Subharmonic synthesizer

Fat Sauce

The squat golden jar is not a bass shelf. Fat Sauce listens to your track, locks onto its low end and synthesizes new bass one or two octaves below — no MIDI, no key input, just the audio already on the channel.

  • TightnessShapes the synthesized envelope from long and greasy to short and controlled.
  • Stereo widthWidens the track above the crossover. The synthesized sub always stays center-mono.
  • Mono belowAn energy-compensated crossover folds the sides to mono under your chosen frequency.

When the track goes quiet or the pitch stops being trustworthy, Fat Sauce closes the tap instead of droning on. Sub depth, tracking focus and target range are all on the jar.

Head Chef is the separate, optional AI controller, a companion product: an AI controller for your session the way a hardware controller is, working with Chicken Strip to observe, explain what it hears, recommend changes and coordinate reversible work across instances.

It never sits in the audio path, and Chicken Strip never needs it to save, recall or sound complete.
